Project description :

The Borj Touil perimeter, irrigated with treated wastewater, covers an area of ​​3200 ha.

Irrigation water is drawn from wastewater treatment plants managed by the National Sanitation Office. The treated wastewater pumping stations and the supply networks to the various plots of the irrigated areas are managed by the CRDAs.

The specific objectives of this study are:

• Development of marginal water in order to derive the best economic benefit from it through agricultural intensification;
• Development of the use of treated wastewater (extension of the Borj Touil perimeter with a plot of 520 ha)
• Improving the operation and management of the perimeters through rehabilitation actions (irrigation networks, pumping stations, hydraulic infrastructure, roads)
