STUDY FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE MORNAG PERIMETER IRRIGATED FROM TREATED WASTEWATER FROM THE SOUTH MELIANE STEP

Project description:

  • The perimeter of Mornag, irrigated from treated wastewater, covers an area of ​​1200 ha and an additional 500 ha extension.
  • Irrigation water is drawn from wastewater treatment plants managed by the National Sanitation Office. The treated wastewater pumping stations and the supply networks to the various plots of the irrigated areas are managed by the CRDAs.

The specific objectives of this study are:

  • Development of marginal water in order to derive the best economic benefit from it through agricultural intensification;
  • Development of the use of treated wastewater (extension of the Mornag perimeter by a plot of 1000 ha)
  • Improving the operation and management of the perimeters through rehabilitation actions (irrigation networks, pumping stations, hydraulic infrastructure, roads)
