HYDRAULIC INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUMPING STATIONS REHABILITATION STUDY IN JENDOUBA PPI

The public irrigated perimeters of Jendouba were built at the end of the 1970s; they are irrigated with water from the Bouhertma dam, the Oued Medjerdah and boreholes. These PPIs cover an area of ​​26,400 ha and include the following hydraulic infrastructures:

  • 222 km of concrete wrapped pipes (FB);
  • 488 km in steel cement (AC);
  • 490 on-line control units;
  • 1000 protective devices;
  • 2,130 emptying devices;
  • 3,500 irrigation terminals;
  • 6 tanks with capacities ranging from 70,000 m3 to 400,000 m3;
  • 880 km of agricultural tracks
  • This study was part of the improvement of PPI management and aimed to:
  • carry out a detailed diagnosis of existing infrastructures;
  • make proposals for the rehabilitation of infrastructures (reservoirs, tracks, networks) with reference to rational rates and standards;
  • prepare the execution files and the work tender documents.
