Client : General Directorate for Land and Regional Planning

Date : : 2010 - 2012

The establishment of manufacturing industries in Tunisia favors the coast and particularly Greater Tunis, the Sahel and the region of Sfax; the interior regions remained devoid of industrial establishment. It is only in recent years that new settlements have taken place in inland regions close to the coast and served by transport infrastructure, linking them to the coast. However, the will of the State is to promote a balanced development for the entire national territory, this will is expressed through the Master Plan for the Development of the National Territory.

This study carried out in two phases has in a first stage tried to analyze the industrial policy followed by Tunisia at the cost of the last decades and exposed the structure and the dynamics of the distribution of industries and the integration of the establishments with communications infrastructure

In a second stage, it was a question of proposing a "strategy allowing a better organization of the industrial space in coherence with the national orientations as regards regional planning in general and industrial planning in particular, taking into account the contexts current and future national and international.
