TECHNICAL-ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY STUDY OF THE BEN GUERDANE TRADE AND LOGISTICS FREE ZONE PROJECT

The Ministry of Commerce commissioned this feasibility study for a commercial and logistics zone in the Benguerdane region based on certain favorable factors in the region (trade and cross-border visitor flows). A commercial and logistics platform located on the Tunisian-Libyan border will consolidate the commercial dynamic between Tunisia and its eastern neighbor and integrate this region into a cross-border context. This economic zone, which is part of a land corridor, can also constitute a platform for serving landlocked sub-Saharan countries and for serving countries in the Middle East by land.
Services provided :
- Phase 1: socio-economic analyses, analyzes of trade between Tunisia and Libya; sociological analysis (practice of parallel trade and possibility of its integration into a structured exchange zone; typology of operators, proposal of zone concepts: operating model and project components;
Phase 2: project feasibility study; legal and institutional framework; approach for choosing a promoter in the context of a PPP.
