This project is part of a more global project: The project "Protection of marine and coastal resources in the Gulf of Gabes", which aims to contribute to the establishment of an integrated and participatory management system for biological diversity in the Gulf of Gabes.

In this context, the objective of this project is the identification in the south of the Kerkennah Islands of an experimental site, dedicated to the conservation of biodiversity and marine resources, integrating the establishment and monitoring of Artificial Reefs, anti-trawl blocks (BAC) and the marking of this site, in order to:

  • First, protect and enhance Posidonia meadows as well as other phanerogams and marine fauna;
  • Contribute to improving the development of marine resources with a view to sustainable development and in particular the management of small-scale coastal fishing.

This project took place in three phases:

  • Phase I: Delimitation of the experimental site and diagnosis
  • Phase II: Proposed development scenario
  • Phase III: Specifications and feasibility study
