Project description :

The implementation of the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) component within the framework of the Integrated Agricultural Development Project (PDAI2) of the Governorate of Siliana, encounters many barriers preventing its integration into agricultural practices in the project area. This study focuses specifically on the legal and institutional framework, which is often not adapted in contradiction with national sectoral policies and strategies..

Services provides :

Phase 1 :

Evaluation of: 1- texts governing access to natural resources (land, water, vegetation, biodiversity) and the use and management of these for production purposes with an emphasis on those relating to management agricultural land which constitutes the support of agricultural and agro-pastoral production; 2- texts governing agricultural and agrarian structures; Critical analysis of the texts in force in order to assess: (i) their relevance and their adequacy with the objectives of Sustainable Land Management and the conservation of biodiversity; (ii) their scope, particularly with regard to their previous and probable future effects and impacts on the state of exploitation of land resources (conservation, degradation, etc.), on the viability of agricultural and agro-pastoral holdings as well as on the conservation of natural ecosystems;

Phase 2 :

Formulation of proposals for legal texts in the sense of the amendment of existing texts or the adoption of new texts, which aim to remedy the deficiencies identified.
