Project Description:
The Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) obliges parties to eliminate production (according to specific classification) and to reduce or eliminate releases resulting from unintentional production of other products. Tunisia, which ratified the convention on April 13, 2004, must fulfill its obligations to the convention by reviewing and updating an implementation plan (PMN) for the convention at intervals and according to specific terms..
Services provided:
- Update of the national inventory of initial POPs;
- Establishment of the national inventory of new POPs;
- Establishment of the inventory of sites polluted by POPs;
- Assessment of the health and environmental risks of the current management of POPs products;
- Assessment of the socio-economic impacts of the use, elimination and reduction of new POPs and initial POPs;
- Evaluation of the level of awareness with regard to POPs;
- Development of criteria and definition of the national objective for the management of new POPs;
- Proposal of a draft National Implementation Plan PNM of the Stockholm Convention;
- Establishment of an action plan for the rational management of POPs
